Jobbio’s Codefest is the latest in the series of one-day coding challenges hosted by Jobbio HIGHER: Jobbio’s flagship careers event at DTS, where Europe’s leading tech companies come together to attract, hire and connect with the most sought after talent.

INTRODUCTION

The Homelessness Edition will kick off on April 11th in the heart of Dublin Tech Summit. Here, mobile developers will take on an innovation-sprint to create an app that helps connect the community to the homeless.

The winning team with the best mobile app will take home a prize pool worth 1,750 euros! As an extra, all participants will receive a free two-day pass to the Dublin Tech Summit (originally worth 349 euros!).

CHALLENGE

Code a mobile app that can connect the community with the homeless.

Inspiration for mobile apps:

GPS tracker app to inform the community of where homeless people are in need
A solution that allows you to connect with charities and volunteer your time effectively
An app that connects local restaurants with people in need of a hot meal

Spend one day showcasing your skills at DTS amongst some of the industries best and brightest to address one of the largest issues faced in Dublin: homelessness.

Where will the codefest take place?

Jobbio's Codefest is a side event of the Jobbio HIGHER Festival, and are both an official part of the Dublin Tech Summit.

Are there travel stipends?

No travel compensation is offered for this event.

Is the work done in teams or individually?

This is a team-based event and requires 3-6 people per team.

What should I bring?

Your laptop, charger, and any hardware or tech you wish to use.

Are food and drinks provided?

Yes, food and drinks are provided for participants during the coding hours.

As a participant, when/how will I receive my pass for the Dublin Tech Summit?

Once you receive confirmation to attend the codefest from a BeMyApp employee, you will then receive further instructions on how to obtain your pass.
